Jax is a German Shorthaired Pointer, a bird dog and a most excellent canine companion. He and I plan to travel by bike from our home in Oregon to the Florida headquarters of K9s For Warriors.

While we ride, we hope to raise awareness and money for this amazing organization. K9s For Warriors provides service dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma. They provide the vets with a service canine, equipment, training, certification, seminars, legal instruction, veterinary care, housing, home cooked meals, unconditional love and listening, and life-time of wrap-around services (including available life-long healthcare and food for their dogs). The dogs they use are mostly rescues and the K9s program is 100% free for the veteran.

I really like dogs, Jax really likes people and we both know how great it can be when you put the two together. K9s For Warriors gives our vets and dogs the “new leash on life” they deserve.
